When buying colored paper for art projects, Fibo recommends card-stock not construction paper. Construction paper is good for toddlers and preschoolers, but for Kindergarten and above, we recommend upgrading to cardstock. The difference is that cardstock is thicker and surface is smoother, which makes it easier to cut, glue, draw on and to paint on!
Fibo recommends buying a multi-color pack to start unless you know specifically which color you need for a project.
