Sometimes, less is more. That was definitely the motto of our 30th US President, Calvin Coolidge.
Coolidge is known as being a man of few words. It is said, he would often try to answer questions with a simple "Yes" or "No" just so he wouldn't have to listen to another 20 minute response to what he had said.
One of the best examples of his carefully crafted responses, comes from a story recounted by his wife, Grade. She tells of a young lady that sat next to Coolidge at a dinner and bet him that she could get at least 3 words of conversation out of him.
His response? "You lose."
