Lil' Picasso July 2025: From Sunflowers to Dreamscapes: Exploring Color and Emotion through Impressionism
Dear Parents,
This July, Lil' Picasso students will explore the world of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art, diving into the styles and colors of iconic artists like Vincent van Gogh, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Marc Chagall, Paul Cézanne, and Claude Monet. Each artist introduced new ways of seeing and depicting the world, inspiring generations with their focus on light, color, and emotion. Throughout the month, our students will learn about color blending, brushwork, and creative expression.
Meet the Artists:
-
Vincent van Gogh
Known for his vibrant colors and expressive brushstrokes, Van Gogh brought raw emotion to his works like Starry Night and Sunflowers. -
Pierre-Auguste Renoir
Renoir’s work often focuses on joyful scenes of people and places, capturing light with soft, pastel-like colors. He was a master at portraying warmth and happiness in his art. -
Marc Chagall
Known for his dreamlike compositions, Chagall combined fantasy and reality with vibrant colors and imaginative details. -
Paul Cézanne
Often called the “father of modern art,” Cézanne focused on the underlying shapes in nature, using brushstrokes and blocks of color to build forms. -
Claude Monet
The founder of Impressionism, Monet painted scenes of water, gardens, and landscapes, often capturing how light and weather transformed them.
What Your Child Will Learn
Throughout July, these projects will encourage your child to:
- Experiment with color blending and texture.
- Understand how light, shadow, and emotion can transform a painting.
- Explore storytelling through imaginative and representational art.
- Appreciate the joy of creating art in a way that celebrates creativity and personal expression.
We’re thrilled to see how our Lil' Picasso's will interpret these famous styles and make each project their own. Thank you for joining us on this journey through Impressionism and Post-Impressionism at Fibo Kids Art Academy. Get ready for a colorful month filled with joyful creativity!
