Lil' Picasso September 2025: Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month: Vivid Colors and Bold Expressions
Dear Parents,
This September, in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, our Lil' Picasso's will explore the vibrant and diverse world of Hispanic art, creating four exciting projects inspired by some of the most influential Hispanic artists: Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso, Frida Kahlo, and El Greco. Through these projects, your child will not only discover the rich cultural contributions of these artists but also have the chance to experiment with new techniques and ideas, expressing themselves in creative and meaningful ways. Here’s a closer look at the artists and the inspiring projects we have planned!
Meet the Artists
-
Salvador Dalí (1904–1989)
Dalí, known for his surreal and dreamlike paintings, created some of the most recognizable works of the 20th century, such as The Persistence of Memory. His melting clocks and strange landscapes invite viewers to explore the boundaries between dreams and reality. -
Pablo Picasso (1881–1973)
One of the most revolutionary artists in history, Picasso is famous for pioneering Cubism and his ability to create multiple perspectives in a single artwork. His works like Guernica and The Weeping Woman challenge traditional ideas of form and perspective. -
Frida Kahlo (1907–1954)
Kahlo’s deeply personal and colorful paintings, such as The Two Fridas and Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird, reflect her struggles and joys, often featuring vibrant colors and symbolic elements from Mexican culture. -
El Greco (1541–1614)
El Greco, a master of the Spanish Renaissance, is known for his elongated figures and dramatic use of color and light. His works, like The Burial of the Count of Orgaz, capture both the spiritual and the earthly.
What Your Child Will Learn
Throughout September, these projects will encourage your child to:
- Explore different artistic techniques and styles, such as surrealism, Cubism, and symbolic self-expression.
- Experiment with colors, shapes, and emotions to create their own works of art.
- Learn about the cultural significance of these renowned Hispanic artists and their contributions to the art world.
- Develop fine motor skills and creative problem-solving.
We are excited to see how each student interprets these famous artists’ styles and expresses their creativity in their own unique way. Thank you for supporting your child’s artistic journey during Hispanic Heritage Month at Fibo Kids Art Academy!
