Around the World: North America

In this series, students visit each of the 7 continents. In the "North America" course, students will learn about the continent of North America as a whole and then learn about and create projects for Mexico, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico and Canada.

What's Included: 4 LIVE classes on Saturdays 1:30-3:00, January 9, 16, 23 and 30th. Plus recordings of those 4 projects plus one bonus recorded project!

Course Designed For: 2nd - 6th Grade

PROJECT 1: CONTINENT OVERVIEW: NORTH AMERICA

Project Description: In this class, students learn about basic geography and facts of the North American Continent. They will draw a map of North America and then a few symbols of landmarks and animals that represent the continent as a whole.

Supplies: Pencil, sharpie, eraser, white paper, scissors, glue, watercolors, markers, colored pencils.

PROJECT 2: MEXICO

Project Description: In this class, students learn about Mexico including the flag and the mysterious, ancient Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza.

Supplies: Pencil, sharpie, eraser, watercolor paper, permanent markers, watercolors, markers.

PROJECT 3: COSTA RICA

Project Description: In this class, students learn about Cocos Island, an island that has inspired many with its' beauty and legends of hidden treasure!

Supplies: Pencil, sharpie, eraser, watercolor paper, watercolors, markers and permanent markers.

PROJECT 4: CANADA

Project Description: In this class, students learn about the Hotel de Glace, an entire hotel made of ice!

Supplies: Pencil, sharpie, eraser, watercolor paper, watercolors, markers. Or, you could use chalk pastels and colored pencils.

PROJECT 5: PUERTO RICO

Project Description: In this class, students learn about Puerto Rico, the flag and Castilo San Felipe del Morro.

Supplies: Pencil, sharpie, eraser, watercolor paper, watercolors, markers.
