ABC Art History: Letters T - Z

In the ABC Art History Book Series, students create a picture for every letter of the alphabet based on a famous artist. In this course, students will create a picture for letters T through Z, including Turner, Utrecht, Van Gogh, Wyland, Xu Wei, Yoshitoshi and Zhao Zuo.

What's Included: 7 projects

Course Designed For: PK-1st Grade (younger students may need assistance)

Series Suppliespencil, sharpie, eraser, markers, chalk pastels, colored pencils, oil pastels, watercolors, colored paper, scissors, glue, watercolor paper and your choice of picture-mounting or binding (ie: colored paper and a presentation book).

In this course, students will make a page for their ABC Art History book for each of the Letters T to Z:

  • Letter T: In this project, students learn about the artist, J.M.W. Turner. Turner was an English Romantic painter, known for his marine landscape paintings.
  • Letter U: In this project, students learn about the artist, Adriaen van Utrecht. Utrecht was a Flemish painter known for his still life paintings.
  • Letter V: In this project, students learn about the artist, Vincent Van Gogh. Van Gogh was a Post Impressionist artist most known for his painting Starry Starry Night.
  • Letter W: In this project, students learn about the artist, Robert Wyland. Wyland is a famous, American, muralist, known for his paintings of whales and other sea animals.
  • Letter X: In this project, students learn about the artist, Xu Wei. Wei was a Ming dynasty Chinese painter, poet, writer and dramatist famous for his artistic expressiveness.
  • Letter Y: In this project, students learn about the famous, Japanese artist, Yoshitoshi! Yoshitoshi is famous for his paintings of Geishas.
  • Letter Z: In this project, students learn about the artist, Zhao Zuo. Zuo was a Chinese painter of the Ming Dynasty. He was famous for his landscape paintings.
